Entry strictly by pre-booked tickets. Details of how to obtain your tickets and prices will be announced on this website later.
We are a not-for-profit model engineering society and all our staff are volunteers. All revenue goes into maintaining the railway and improving facilities or is donated to charity. We do not charge for entry.
ST LUKE'S CHARITY TRAIN RIDES & CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
The event will be on Friday 13th December between 5pm - 8pm. No admission charge, train rides £2 each, all proceeds to the Hospice.
IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTICE TO ALL PASSENGERS:
Be aware that steam locomotives may emit sparks, ashes and oil which can result in injury or damage to clothing for which we cannot accept liability - please wear suitable clothing. Please read the Train Riding Rules at the Ticket Office before boarding the trains. Our locomotives get very hot - so please do not touch them, and PLEASE keep off the railway tracks! We offer clean toilet facilities, including disabled access. A wheelchair accessible carriage is available on request. Timetables are available from the ticket office for you to take home. Unused tickets can be used on a later date. You may park in the field if the ground conditions permit - access to the railway's premises by vehicle is strictly limited to pre-booked disabled badge holders and members of our Society involved in running the railway. The car park fields close at 5pm. We do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to vehicles or contents. |
ORGANISING A BIRTHDAY PARTY? PLEASE READ THIS INFORMATION:
We do not charge for birthday parties and we cannot offer any special arrangements, but you may invite your guests to our railway on a scheduled public running day as per the timetable, i.e. between 1pm and 5pm. For safety reasons we do not allow barbecues or self catering equipment, or any ball or other games involving throwing. Please take all your party litter home as we do not have a council collection. In return for this concession, we ask you to buy tickets for the trains and to buy some refreshments. Parents must stay with their children at all times and closely supervise them. There is strictly no access into the railway by motor vehicle We serve hot and cold beverages, ice cream, cakes and other refreshments at very reasonable prices. |
